Creamery, Singapore…paradise for those with a sweet tooth.

If you love chocolate as much as me, and you’re hungry, then look away now.

These days desserts have been supersized, with enough calories to fuel a family for a month. The Choc a lot is the top seller for a reason – cookie chocolate lava include a scoop of ice cream. Choose your flavour of ice cream – I picked Banoffee (banana, toffee and choco mud pie) – and indulge. Each bite was a perfect ratio of crumbly cake and warm sauce. If you’re feeling extra naughty, order one of their indulgent brownie topped with milo dinosaur ice cream to go with it.

Arrive hungry. This is the true truth as I say it as it is…

Conditorei Schober Tea Room, Zurich…you can’t miss this if you are looking for true Swiss delights.

This place is the spot you can’t miss if you are looking for true Swiss delights. A quaint and very Zurich patisserie/cafe in the middle of old town, this mid-19th century café is beautifully decorated with Baroque interiors and completely unique levels.

This is THE place to go for hot chocolate in Switzerland. The super rich cup of hot chocolate, a Schober classic, is made with real slabs of chocolate, and is incredibly tasty. The flavour doesn’t just disappear after you swallow, but lingers.

They take their chocolate very seriously here. This is the true truth as I say it as it is…

White Flower Factory, Bangkok…I walked away pleasantly surprised.

I wasn’t expecting much from this innocuously named Siam Square One outpost, but I walked away pleasantly surprised.

I opted for the Thai tea crepe was reasonably pleased with the layers of paper thin crepes, each separated with a brush of light thai tea flavour. A simple, effective conversation stopper unless conservation could be construed as a series of affirmative grunts. The chocolate fudge looks and tastes great. It’s a plate which calms the senses like the orderly simplicity of a Japanese garden. The lemongrass juice was sweet and refreshing with a clean aftertaste.

Taken on its own merit, this is a fun, casual cafe you’d definitely use if you were in the area. This is the true truth as I say it as it is…

Nougatine at Jean Georges, New York City…Fabulous, fantastic, formidable – any and all would describe Nougatine

It was quite an experience to dine at Nougatine at Jean-Georges and one of the best meals I’ve had in NYC.   It is the less formal of the Jean Georges restaurants and this classy casual restaurant shares the same kitchen and even a few of the same dishes (such as the classic Jean-Georges warm chocolate cake), as the 3 star Michelin JG.

I can’t say enough about how great the service was. Service is incredible from start to finish – extremely polite and gracious hosting staff, knowledgeable waiters and an awesome, phenomenal manager – Julian Bruell.  I mentioned that we have to leave by 6.30pm as we were watching a musical at 8. The service was very accommodating and friendly. They sat us at 5.20pm even before the restaurant’s official opening time of 5.30. Glasses were frequently being refilled, our waiter was very polite and attentive, and the timing of the food was spot on. At every course, our dishes were placed in front of us at the same time. I wish I had service like this everywhere.

The fried calamari with basil salt was flavoured perfectly and the citrus-chili dip was so delicious I wanted to dip everything in it! The slowly cooked salmon with sautéed potatoes, black olive and passion fruit was tender like butter and just the perfect visual spectacle. However, towards the middle of the fish, the sauce was way to sour and overpowering. With Jean Georges signature warm chocolate cake with the iced, cold vanilla bean ice-cream, I was reminded how I would get a molten chocolate cake as part of my last meal on earth. It was like a match made in heaven! No one can do chocolate cake like Mr. Jean-Georges.

This will be my “go-to” restaurant everytime I am in NYC. This is the true truth as I say it as it is…

Nadeje Cake House, Melaka…Multistoried darn tasty Dessert

Mille Crepe succeeds so splendidly not just because it’s wildly delicious but also because it’s a clever design. Here’s what it is: around 20 (as opposed to 1,000) paper-thin, lacy crepes separated by luscious clouds of whipped-cream-lightened pastry cream. The top most layered is caramalized, promoting nice sugary smoky sensation. A fork plunged into a slice slides like a shovel through fresh snow. You get a whiff of smoky sugar, then layer after silky-sweet layer of darn tastiness.

The restaurant is clean, minimalist = very soothing vibe. A good crepe cake sticks together and doesn’t fall apart. Be sure to have it chilled for the best taste or eat it as soon as you purchase. The double Chocolate comes with dark choc cream & choc chips while the original that started it all for Nadeje has sumptuously smooth house-made custard cream & Tahitian vanilla bean mix.

Nadeje’s be a tad less sweeter, denser but delightfully addictive nonetheless. Count the layers if you dare. This is the true truth as I say it as it is…

Chocolate Cafe, The South Bend Chocolate Company, Indianapolis…The chocolate covered raisins are to die for

The South Bend Chocolate Cafe I went to is at the airport; the hot choc is very good and so rich but a tad pricey. It is made with real melted chocolate topped with whipped cream and chocolate syrup if you want as well. YUMMY! Service (it is counter service) at the Cafe is fine but nothing special.

They also have really good chocolates. Get the Chocolate covered raisins if you want a treat – it is high quality and very, very good. Plump, juicy raisins surrounded by creamy pure milk chocolate makes this a tasty gourmet chocolate treat.

Remember The South Bend Chocolate Company if ever you need a fix for your chocolate craving when you are in Indy. This is the true truth because I say it as it is…
