2nd’s, Manila…I am sure to go back for 2nds after my first visit

2nd’s is a great little restaurant which is set up like a homey living room with a laid-back vibe.

I can see why the beef rib adobo is their bestseller. The slow braised beef ribs adobo with garlic, served with steamed rice and green mango and tomato salsa is indeed my all time favourite comfort food here. Delicious. We also had the three little pigs kawali (crispy pork belly with rosemary, foie gras bites, green mango and tomato salsa with steamed rice and special liver sauce) The roasted garlic rice is also very memorable.

Great food great service what more could you ask for !!!! I am sure to go back for 2nds after my first visit. This is the true truth as i say it as it is…

The Gurney Resort Hotel & Residences, Penang….in a word…..eeeeew!

There are no excuses for a filthy, unhygienic hotel room but my room in The Gurney Hotel was disgustingly dusty. The curtains (with those holes in them) looked like they hadn’t been washed for 15 years, the carpet was sticky and dirty, and it was generally unclean. Makes you wonder what they are paying the cleaning and house keeping staff for doesn’t it?

My room is certainly big and spacious, but bigger does not mean better here. A grand hotel it is not. The decor was more of 90’s cheap chain hotel feel. It was a big room with a micro-mini TV. And a Mickey mouse ironing board. The beds had some of the most uncomfortable mattresses I have ever slept on.  They were solidly hard and in dire need of replacing as you could be forgiven if you thought you were sleeping on the floor.  The pillows were so soft it was non-existent. The dark and gloomy writing table and work area is more suited for the visually impaired.

I’m embarrassed to even admit that I stayed at The Gurney Hotel. This is the true truth as I say it as it is…

Novus, Singapore…Pray you don’t get attended to by Vanny Seah, the sales manager

I am absolutely appalled at the shoddy service and treatment by Vanny Seah – the Sales manager of Novus.

Novus is a funky restaurant in Singapore’s national Museum. With a seating capacity of 60 in the dining room and 50 in the courtyard, Novus was my choice venue for a private event I was organizing. Vanny Seah attended (or rather didn’t bother to attend) to me. She was dismissive, condescending and simply didn’t bothered. On the day of the event, she was total bystander. She didn’t deliver on her promises and made herself so difficult to contact when we needed to fix things.

We are Singaporeans, we are restaurant people, we never complain about prices and try not to judge service too harshly, but Vanny Seah is a travesty. This is the true truth as i say it as it is…

Siam Legend Thai Massage, Johor Baru…cheap doesn’t mean good

Horrid! Horrid! Horrid!

The first masseur came out to where I was sitting at the reception looking so solemn like her goldfish’d died. No eye contact, no smile. Only a scrowl. Needless to say, I asked for a change of massuer

The massage I’ve gotten was, well, horrible. The massuer seemed to not know what she was doing at all, almost seemed scared to apply any pressure whatsoever and, consequently, barely massaged anything, let alone the knots in my lower back and shoulder.

Be warned, you get what you pay for with this place. They are rude, unprofessional and dont even use good massage therapists.

Let it be known that I get massages all the time from different people– I knew  what to expect for the price and environment. I knew it would not be the best massage I ever got, but it would suffice.  But I did not expect getting the worst massage experience of my life!

Hopefully, this review will help others NOT go to this horrid place.
If I could give a negative star, I would! This is the true truth as I say it as it is…

Mustang Grand Canyon helicopter tours, Las Vegas…Expectations were higher than the reality produced

While visiting Vegas, we decided to take a trip to the Grand Canyon. I read a lot of reviews about doing this and let me tell you, I am not really sure that it was worth it!  It’s a bit scary at first, but if you’re used to it, it’s quite breath-taking. I know it it a very expensive sight (fortunately i don’t remember the exact costs)

They do a good job of picking you up from our hotel on the strip and dropping you back, in all the trip takes about 4 hours. They provided a very pleasant waiting area at the airport. The staff were courteous but not incredibly friendly including our pilot who provided interesting information during our flight. Although the web site boasts of – helicopters feature wraparound glass for outstanding visibility, front-facing, theater-style seating – those sitting in the middle seats in the back had limited views

Expectations were higher than the reality produced. I don’t think I would actually pay for it out of my pocket….unless maybe I won a lot of money in Vegas. This is the true truth as I say it as it is…
