AirBnB: Silverscape Luxury Residence, Melaka…If I work hard, one day, with luck, I may be able to forget

We’ve all endured a disappointing hotel or accommodation at some point – whether it was bed bugs or the mattress was last upgraded in 1950.

There is one thing worse than staying in a dirty accommodation: to be told a day before arrival that there is no reservation for you. It was a red flag sign when I was informed that they didn’t have my reservation details and that the apartment I’d booked and paid for, was delisted. So I was offered an alternative apartment in the same building.

The evidence at Silverscape Residences began with the disturbing stench that hits you when you enter tower A via the residence carpark. Rooms were dusty. Not maintained or loved. It had a good location, sufficient amenities and the view from great – but it seriously lacked cleanliness.

This one will leave me with memories. They are bleak and troubling. If I work hard, one day, with luck, I may be able to forget. This is the true truth as I say it as it is…

AirBnB: Molek Regency Midori Concept Home, Johor Bahru…not up to sniff

The design, facilities and location of Molek regency will make you feel right at home in this neighbourhood.

The bathroom/toilet attached to the master bedroom was notoriously smelly. This made a perfectly great stay hideous and the heart sick. The stench can be smelled far beyond the master bedroom, as soon as you enter the apartment. Even the freshener provided by an otherwise wonderful host, hadn’t helped.

I totally would stay here again, if not for the only offensive, nose-related complaint. The best smell would be no smell at all. This is the true truth as I say it as it is…

Airbnb, Condo Grand View 360, Johor Bahru…thumbs down for misrepresenting the listing

If you’re like me, you do not know much about Airbnb. But this much I do know…when I show up to my rental, I should find that it is what was advertised.

With my rental of Unit A05-02 at Condo Grand View 360 in Johor Bahru, the listing booked is misrepresented. There were no bath towels (the listing indicated towels are included) and when I reached out to my host, Daniel, he simply blamed it on the Airbnb system. Hence at 9+pm, I had to scramble to the mall to purchase towels before the shops closed. Daniel who had been very responsive prior to that suddenly went very quiet and ignored me twice when I asked if he was going to reimburse me. Mysteriously, the wifi signal disappeared soon after and never came back on for the duration of my stay. The beds were not as comfortable as you would get in a 1* hotel. We woke up with excruciating pain in our backs. The beds are so hard and uncomfortable, I need a chiropractor.

Genuinely the worst Airbnb experience I have ever had. This is the true truth as I say it as it is…
