Smoothie House, Taipei…it tastes like eating clouds

CNN named it one of the top 10 desserts in the world. Taiwanese snow shaved ice (or snow cream) has definitely made a mark on the dessert scene.

Snow ice is made by freezing a block of flavored, sweet milk (as opposed to just a block of ice) and shaving it down into flaky ribbons of layered snow. The ice is fine and fluffy as rabbit down —neither too crunchy, nor too dense and wet—and blend seamlessly into the toppings. Think of it as an ice sundae.

If you go for the trinity of mango, strawberry and kiwi, you’re in for an intensely fresh treat. And the all-mango one = greatness.

This is not food for wimps. Bring a friend or three to share. You’ll thank me. This is the true truth as I say it as it is…

Mae Varee Fruits Shop, Bangkok…Mango sticky rice that will Thai me down.

I’m a sucker for dessert. I can never turn down a happy ending, especially when it’s mango sticky rice.

Spot the giant faux mango, and you’ll know you’re at the right spot. The mango is definitely of good quality and fresh, it was sweet (and not the pursed-lips kind of sweet), juicy and ripe atop perfectly cooked warm bed of glutinous rice with a chewy texture. Infused with very creamy coconut milk, it was yummy in my tummy.

The shop is open 24 hours for you to buy mangos but the sticky rice is only available from 5am to 11pm. There are no seats here so all the stuff are to-go only.

I LOVE this place! Not only do I eat here for my own selfish pleasure, but anyone I know who loves mango sticky rice, this is where I bring them to. This is the true truth as I say it as it is…

Ching Ching Desserts, Hong Kong…rocked me to my core

I absolutely adore this place. Not only that the price is surprisingly reasonable, the uniqueness and quality of their product is quite the charm.

There are countless choices for dessert in Hong Kong but this is very local hangout has quite a selection of sensational desserts.  The refreshing milk pudding with fresh mango rocked me to my core. What makes it extra good is the fact that the milk pudding brings out and enhances the naturally robust sweetness taste of the mango, plus adds that touch of richness you’re looking for in a pudding. Eating the plain rice ball with peanut sand topping was like taking a bite of heaven.  Recommended are also the papaya with sago and grass jelly sago mango. ALL DELICIOUS.

Big love this one. This is the true truth as I say it as it is…

Hui Lau Shan healthy dessert, Hong Kong…if you are a mango lover like me, this place is a must go.

This is a chain restaurant and they’re everywhere – even at the Hong Kong airport arrival hall. Though not spacious, it’s clean and makes a good place for a chat with friends.

They offered a variety of desserts, but I liked the ones with mango best. Mango puree, mango slices, mango dices, mango ice cream – every single possible way of eating mango in a nice and chilled manner, they have it all covered.  My personal favourite is the sago in mango juice with extra mango. It is pure mango with every bite.  Sweet yet not overwhelming, smooth and silky. Obscene amount of mangoes goes into that one dessert.

If you’re a mango fanatic like me,  this place is a must go. It’s mangolicious! This is the true truth as I say it as it is…
